British Style Genius is a new show airing this autumn. The event featured a 20-minute preview of the five-part series, with an introductory talk by BBC2 Controller, Roly Keating. I love fashion TV and I’ll watch any fashion program at least once. I just want to know what’s happening and be informed of fashion television as a trend.
I think it’s important to have programs that support and celebrate British fashion, especially when London Fashion Week was being squeezed. I heard comments this season that London Fashion Week was too commercial – to wearable…
Does this women look familiar? It’s the Editor of Drapers, Lauretta Roberts! (The mask was featured in the programme.)
Fashion journalist Phoebe Frangoul and my wonderful assistant Rosie!
Bloggers Unite! Denrele, Susie Bubble and me!
This jacket belongs to the King of vintage, the charming Mark Butterfield!
The party was in Camden Lock and we were treated to fruity vodka cocktails and more canapés than you could eat! It was a very festive event with lots of very cool fashion people.

It’s so hard to chose what to wear when I love so many of the pieces. I cannot separate the designs from the designer. I think that if you love the clothes you will love something about the designer – the person. There are a couple of designers that I know who really express themselves through their collection and Inbar is one of these people.
I know the lines between fashion and art is often blurred but I don’t see this as a problem – I think it’s a bonus. Working with Inbar is like working with family, some people you just feel at home and comfortable with. You have to be able to say what you think and feel and know that that’s ok. I love all these dresses and I might be bias but I don’t think that that clouds my judgement.
These are some of my favourite looks but really it’s so hard for me to chose, check out Vogue.com to see the whole S/S 09 collection.
This dress is amazing, it felt like the model was poured into it. It’s strong, feminine and so so sexy.

I love Inbar’s jackets – they were great in the A/W 08 collection and are just as strong for S/S 09. I’d wear this outfit everywhere!

I just love the construction of this dress, it’s just so beautiful!

These are some key looks from Karen Brost’s Spring Summer 09 collection titled Regal on the Riveria.
I think this biker inspired jacket is quite cool. Holly looks great in it and so did I, and I’m only 5′ 2". It’s always interesting to see how a garment fits, seeing it in print or on the cat walk is one thing and trying it on a real person can be totally different. Fortunately Karen designs for real women. I’ve also had my eye on the Kitty Cat dress too- it’s so cute! There is something very sexy about this collection the fabrics drape beautifully so you feel very feminine yet strong.

I love the lips. Rachel Wood used Frenched Red lipstick from Benefit and a ton of clear gloss!

Jan Przemyk headed the team from Toni & Guy. The inspiration for the hair was 1970’s Karen Carpenter – centre parting and curls from mid-length to ends maintaining straight roots for a multi-textured feel.

Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label show at London Fashion Week was a huge event and it took place at Earls Court’s Brompton Hall. It must have had a capacity for over a thousand people, so of course it was a star studded crowd with Pamela Anderson, Kate Moss, Erin O’Conner, Dita Von Teese, Emma Watson and Jamie Winstone just to name a few!
The collection was everything you’d expect from fringing, sequins, bright colours, PVC and the most stunning hats by Prudence Millinery. The hat’s were my favourite part; there were oversized hats & sun visors in gold, dresses with hoods and cloches type hats. You can see all the looks on Vogue.com
Of course the message is just as important as the clothes. We were given the Active Resistance to Propaganda – Manifesto Vivienne Westwood. On the credit list we are reminded that "Leonard Peltier has been in prison for 31 years for a crime he did not commit.."
Before the show I met up with the gorgeous Jessica Bumpus, one of the fashion writers for Vogue.com. She’s one of those girls who is effortlessly cool with her strawberry blond hair and red lips.
So many people!!!
Alexia of Luxure Magazine looking fabulous!
I’m not a fan of fake tans – it seem kind of cheap to me, I know it’s a look, a style that so many people love and some people do look better with a tan – just not an orange fake tan… Anyway a red head should have beautiful porcelain skin like Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts. I spotted her at the show and asked if I could take her photo – I just love her red hair! Nicola’s recently started her own make up line – Dainty Doll. I love the packaging and it’s in every goody bag this London Fashion Week!
