Death Proof & Stunt Women

I love a good car chase and ’s Death Proof  is all about that!

The film is about psychopathic stunt man, Kurt Russell who targets young women, murdering them with his "death proof" stunt car. I love the styling in the movie; Kurt Russell really looks like an old stunt driver left over from the 70’s and the girls look great; they are trashy, sexy and cheap without being trashy or cheap. They remind me a bit of the girls in Russ Meyer’s Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!.

The are super cool and a rare breed.

Zoe Bell, one of the main characters is also a stunt women, she was Xena and Uma Thurman’s stunt women in Kill BiIl. Tracy Dashnaw has been doing stunts since the early 80’s and was even Wonder Women’s stunt woman! Chrissy Weathersby is a black stunt woman – On the dvd Quentin Tarantino talks about how difficult it is to find a black stunt woman and how Chrissy will become the go-to girl of the future. I just think jobs like this are so cool!
