Fashion Intuition
Posted by Rebekah Roy on August 28th, 2008
I really like graffiti. Both of these phrases “She walks in beauty” and “I want to believe” make me think; they make me want something. I’d like to be the girl who walks in beauty even though on an intellectual level I’m not exactly sure what that means. If I think about it of course I can figure it out but I’d rather simply enjoy the idea on an intuitive level; it sounds like a nice feeling. And yes I do “want to believe“! I admire people who have conviction – even if I don’t agree or like them very much. To have absolute belief in something is very powerful.

So how does this relate to fashion? I’m not sure that it does but I’ve been thinking quite a bit about instincts – and how relevant that is to our fashion choices. Colour and scent are always quite interesting subjects as we don’t really know why we like a certain colour or a specific scent – we just do. We trust our instincts.

Great photo. I agree that quite often you can’t explain why you wear what you do. You just do it.

I think any images or words that provoke thought are useful and I agree the conscious decisions we make are based on things we have floating in our sub conscious.

‘I believe’
One of my favourite phrases.
So powerful and magical.
I use it all the time and not just because it features heavily in Miracle on 34th Street (one of my favourite films and not just for Christmas)

I have a strange feeling that “I want to believe” was not ment to be raleted to the lady. Nevertheless it is a nice piece of art worthy more than the board it is painted/sprayed onto.
