I love hotels. I know I mention this all the time but it’s only because it’s true. Hotel rooms are so tidy and I guess I just need to be free of my clutter and debris. I also like a hotel that gives you your own little coffee pot at breakfast (I drink tea in the morning at home but when I’m out I always have coffee).
When I was a student and in between flats I once shared my friend’s chambre de bonne (tiny single room flat usually on the top floor) across from Chanel on Rue Cambon, and for some reason I found it very funny that years later I’m staying on Rue Cambon but this time I’m at the lovely Castille Paris (33-37 Rue Cambon), right beside Chanel, for Paris Fashion Week! It seems ironic…but not accidental, it actually seems odd because it feels normal.
I love going to Paris because I really love cafes. It doesn’t matter how late it is, there is always a cafe open – it’s not the same as going to your local English pub. I’ve also decided that when I’m 75 I want to dress like a 75 year old, chic Parisian woman: clean lines, beautiful fabrics, a scarf, good shoes and nice hand bag. It gives me something to look forward to, and if I’m going to be old I’m going to dress well!

I love hotels to because it is kind of an escape from your real world :) I love the photos of the hotel room in this post, it looks so cosy and has lots of warmth and personality.
Loving your blog :)

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for the kind comments. The hotel was lovely, it was cosy but it didn’t feel small – actually it really was perfect!
