Gok Wan

Today I met with one of my favourite people, . He was
one of the first people I met when I moved to London.
I was visiting a PRs and he just happen to be pulling some clothes too. Gok was
so friendly, telling me different PRs to visit, where to find certain items,
just a wonderful wealth of knowledge! He’s an incredibly generous person.
Anyway this afternoon we had a chance to hang out in .
He’s been quite busy as he is filming for a new tv show!!

I had the pleasure to sleep a few nights on Gok’s floor when I visited London in 2001. Gok was kind enough to let me stay in his South London house for free and even gave me some fashion advice, which always goes down well. Little did I know then that the guy would go on to become a star (a minor star nonetheless, but not everyone has their own TV show, do they?) Good luck to him and may he prosper in the future.

Dearest sweet and kind Reb… What a huge heart for such a petite lady! As sweet as honey and just as glossy. You deserve to do so well, not only talented and creatively in tune with this dynamic business but also as kind a as snow drop. Much Love… Gok x

He came to my work place for his styling/makeover event yesterday..in Mexx. The store manager picked me to be Gok’s little helper/assistant, with my background in styling it helped to run the event smoothly. He was a fantastic guy to work with, met one of his hairstylist whom i worked with in the FT shoot two weeks ago…hahaha.

Love you, Gok. Good for you for seeing the beauty within each individual, and helping them see it, too. Do you think the day will come when fashion designers make trendy clothes in sizes larger than 12?

I have never, in all my born days, seen a programme quite as awful as How to Look Good Naked. Apart from maybe Dog Borstal Unleashed. And that terrible thing where Gillian McKeith invites fat people into her home.

The basic premise of Gok’s show – that women haven’t lived until they’ve paraded starkers in front of an auditorium of fashionistas – would have the feminists of the 1960s turning in their graves and burning their bras all over again.

I am one of the many women who suffer from low self esteem since having 3 children and going from a size 12 to size 18. I have not worn a skirt in over 10 years, I cover myself in big baggy clothes and for the life of me could not lose weight. That all changed last week when I accidently changed channels and there was Gok burning Helens bras and I was hooked. I have now started to look after myself which has made me feel fantastic and my husband is loving the new me. I still have a way to go emotionally I think but now I have Gok to help me along by means of watching the show and of course Goks book (which I would love Gok to sign but that would probably not happen).

Gok – We have never met but you have changed my life. I have never been happy with my body until I saw your show. You are a living legend and should my girls have the same self esteem issues I have I will gladly pass on your wise words. Thank you Gok

    Hugs and Kisses…. Roni xxx

I want to be a fashion designer and I personally know quite abit about fashion.
How to look good naked is a brilliant show to show women that they are beautiful no matter what. Gok’s doing a wicked job.
I hope one day he will help me out with some fashion tips.
    Love you Gok.

I’m all the way from Australia and catch your show on the Lifestyle channel – I just love it. It has helped me immensely in my day to day clothing choices and I’m always so inspired by the girls you help. You are an amazing person in a world full of critics. I just hope Australia picks-up all your episodes! Well done, Gok – you deserve the very best life has to offer!

Yes I am a big fan of Gok too, Along with my daughter who is at Uni doing a Fashion course and hoping to take the stylists path in her second year. How lovely he must be as a friend. I notice one of the comments was from Gok’s Family, must have a good supportive family behind him. So refreshing to have such a positive person in the world of TV, such a fab attitude towards women in general no matter what shape or size, this is what we need to make us all feel good about ou

To be so nice to everyone on the show and seem genuinely concerned for their well being even if the subject matter isn’t “your cup of tea” is so refreshing. May the gods shine kindly on you forever.xxxxx

Is there anyway possible that i could find out if Gok Wan will ever be coming to Ireland. I’m in need of some serious fashion advice, as i’m petite & find it hard to know what suits tiny prople. I’m almost 34yrs & hate shopping in Children’s Depts where the fashion doesn’t quite fit the age group!!!

Wow, on a trip to Bristol today we bumped into the Gok Clothes van and there was the man himself getting miked up. Had to race off but does anyone know what show this is for?

    May 9, 2008 at 8:08

Its a new show he is doing, he’s going round cities in Britain to find ‘Britain’s most stylish person’ so he picks one from every city he is visiting and then there is a final in London where the finalist gets a shopping spree to New York all paid for. The show also has stuff about fashion on it like interviews or w/e (:
but yeh i was in Bristol and i got picked out, and got into the final 5 but then i was too young to go through :( but yeh, apparently its going to be on tv around the 3rd week of june!
